Jim Mahony - Legal Practice Director
Jim is the founding partner of the firm and has over 35 years experience. He has extensive experience in the legal sector in South Australia and has become a well known legal identity in personal injury and compensation law. Jim works predominantly from Mahony's Mount Gambier office and has a strong reputation in the community for his down to earth approach and ability to get results without the technical jargon.

Berghetta Mahony - Legal Practice Director
Berghetta completed her Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Health Science at the University of Adelaide. She then went onto complete a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice through the Law Society of South Australia. She is admitted to practice in both the Supreme Court of South Australia and the High Court of Australia. Berghetta's Health Science background has assisted her in a broader understanding of her client's injuries in areas of medical negligence, worker's compensation and motor vehicle accidents. She is also an Accredited Mediator (2006) which enables her to assist clients in all areas of family law. Berghetta is an active member of the Law Society of SA and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia. She has experience in all State and Federal Courts and Tribunals and has worked with Queens Counsel in court actions and complex mediations.

James Mahony - Legal Practice Director
James completed his studies at Flinders University before going on to complete a Masters of Law at Melbourne University, specialising in Industrial Law, Medical Negligence, Insurance, and General Litigation. He has worked in all state and commonwealth courts and tribunals working with Queens Counsel from both South Australia and interstate. He is an active member of the Law Society of SA, the Australia Lawyers Alliance, and Justice Net SA - an organisation working to provide legal advice to some of the states most disadvantaged.

Danielle De Pizzol - Special Counsel
Danielle holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours from the University of Adelaide. She was admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia in 2007 and admitted to the High Court in 2010. Danielle is a member of the Law Society of SA and the Family Law Section.

Stefanie Wheare - Associate
Stefanie graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2011 with a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law with Second Class Honours. She went on to complete her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice with the Law Society of South Australia before being admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia as a Barrister and Solicitor in 2012. Stefanie has been admitted to the High Court of Australia and works in the areas of Wills and Estates and Personal Injury, with a particular passion for Family Law.

Anthony Reynolds - Associate
Anthony graduated with a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Commerce from UniSA and completed his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the Australian National University. He was admitted to practice in South Australia before commencing work as a solicitor at our Mount Gambier office in February 2015 and in 2017 relocated to our Woodville office. Anthony assists clients in Personal Injury, Family Law and Criminal matters with a focus on workplace law and general advocacy.

Freya Penney - Solicitor
Freya completed a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Adelaide in 2011 before going on to complete a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice through the Australian National University in 2012 and her Masters in Law (legal practice) through Australian National University in 2015. Freya is admitted to practice in both the Supreme Court of South Australia and the High Court of Australia. Freya commenced her role at Mahony’s in April 2017 and has a particular interest in Family Law.

Christopher Mahoney - Solicitor
Chris completed a double degree in Law and Arts at the University of Adelaide in 2015, and completed his Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Australian National University in 2016. Chris is admitted to practice in both the Supreme Court of South Australia and the Australian Capital Territory. Chris commenced working as a Solicitor at our Salisbury Office in April 2017 and recently relocating to our Mt Gambier Office. Auke Steensma - Solicitor
Auke was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia in August 2015 and the Federal and High Court of Australia in September 2015. In 2016 he was admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia and on 29 Nov 2017 pursuant to the Mutual Recognition Act 1992 (Cth) was granted registration as a legal practitioner in South Australia. Auke joins our team with a interesting and diverse background including that of a Arbitrator, Adjudicator, Mediator and Expert Determination Practitioner.
